Bert Quint's Report from Khe Sanh

from the CBS Evening News, April 4, 1968.

Fighting around Khe Sanh had been reported for weeks. On April 4, there had been a lull in the fighting. As was typical of the Vietnam war, the Americans would take a location after destroying all the countryside around it, but would eventually have to give it up as soon as they moved a majority of the troops somewhere else. Khe Sanh was taken and lost several times.
